Allergy patients search Google when symptoms become unbearable and they are ready for testing and treatment.

Allergy patients come to Google in two scenarios: when their over-the-counter medications have stopped working, and when a new symptom (a child's first reaction, a suspected food allergy, an asthma diagnosis) pushes them toward specialist care. "Allergist near me," "allergy testing [city]," and "immunologist [city]" are searches that happen year-round, with peaks during spring and fall allergy seasons.
Allergy clinics that rank on Google Maps with strong reviews, condition-specific content, and clear appointment booking consistently attract the most motivated, self-referred patients. This guide covers the complete local SEO strategy for allergists and immunologists in private practice.

Allergy reviews that describe a patient going from suffering through two allergy seasons per year to being symptom-free after immunotherapy are remarkably compelling for suffering patients in the research phase.
When to ask: After a patient expresses that their symptoms have dramatically improved — typically after 6 to 12 months of immunotherapy.
Script: "You mentioned this is the first spring in 10 years you haven't needed antihistamines every day. That's exactly what we hoped for. Would you be willing to share that story in a Google review? There are so many people in [city] who are exactly where you were a year ago."

Allergy and immunology directories:
AAAAI and ACAAI directories are non-negotiable. Physicians making referrals to allergists specifically use these directories. Patients seeking board-certified allergists use them. Ensure your listing is complete and current in both.

🔥 Quick Win: Use Flento to track your Google Maps ranking across your service area. Allergy clinics often serve patients from a wide radius, especially for pediatric food allergy and immunotherapy services.
No food allergy content. Food allergy testing and management — especially for children — is one of the most searched and most anxiety-driven patient journeys in allergy. A dedicated food allergy page is essential.
Not listed on AAAAI or ACAAI. Physicians making referrals and patients seeking board-certified allergists go directly to these directories. An unlisted allergist is invisible to this referral pathway.
No content during peak allergy season. The weeks before peak pollen season are when allergy search volume spikes. Publishing content in advance captures this traffic. Waiting until after the season misses it entirely.
No immunotherapy explanation. Many allergy patients do not know that long-term desensitization through allergy shots or sublingual drops is possible. Dedicated immunotherapy content attracts the most motivated long-term patients.
Patients in your community are suffering through every allergy season when a diagnosis and treatment plan could change everything. Show up on Google Maps with condition-specific content, strong reviews, and clear appointment booking. That fills your schedule.
