Commercial cleaners, out-of-hours engineers and overnight contractors are usually invisible on Maps because their profile says closed at the exact hours they work. Here is how to fix the hours, write for a daytime buyer, and answer the keyholding objection.

Commercial cleaners, restocking crews, industrial laundries, overnight logistics, out-of-hours IT engineers and emergency facilities contractors all share a strange local search problem. Their customers are businesses, their work happens when those businesses are shut, and every piece of standard local SEO advice assumes an open door and a daytime customer.
The result is that these firms tend to be invisible on Maps despite serving hundreds of local premises, because their profile says closed at exactly the hours they are working.
This guide covers local SEO for businesses that serve other businesses overnight: how to set hours honestly, which searches your buyers actually make, and how to be reachable when the decision is being made.
Set hours reflecting when you actually work, because a profile showing closed overnight contradicts the entire service you sell.
This sounds obvious and is routinely wrong.
Get this right:
Distinguish service hours from office hours. Many firms work overnight but answer phones in the daytime, and the profile description should say which is which so nobody rings at 3am expecting an answer.
🛠️ Action Step: Look at your profile now. If it says closed during the hours you are actively on client sites, fix it today. It is the cheapest correction available to you.
Optimise for daytime searching even though you work at night, because the facilities manager choosing you is at their desk at 2pm, not on site at 2am.
The searcher and the service window are separated, and content should reflect the searcher.
How your buyer searches:
The phrase after hours matters commercially. Facilities buyers use it deliberately because it is a specification, and pages using their language rank for their searches.
State your out-of-hours capability prominently, because it is the specific thing your buyer is trying to find and most competitors bury it.
What to publish:
Access and keyholding is the real objection. A business handing over keys or alarm codes needs reassurance long before it needs a price, and addressing it on the page removes the biggest barrier to enquiry.
⚠️ Common Mistake: Writing a services page that never mentions when the work happens. Out-of-hours delivery is the product, and a page that reads like every daytime competitor gives buyers no reason to call.
Recognise that proximity still matters even for business customers, because facilities buyers strongly prefer suppliers who can reach the site quickly.
The general principles are covered in local SEO for B2B companies, and the overnight case sharpens them.
Why proximity matters more here:
Publish response times by area. A commitment to reach any site in your city within an hour is more persuasive than any description of your capability.
Create content for each kind of building you service, because facilities buyers search by their own sector rather than by your service name.
Worth building:
Sector pages convert better than service pages, because a hospital facilities manager wants evidence you have worked in healthcare, not a general list of what you do.
💡 Pro Tip: Name the sectors you hold current contracts in, even without naming clients. Buyers screen on sector experience before anything else.
Make enquiry easy during the daytime and emergencies answerable overnight, because a missed call at either end loses the contract.
What to have in place:
📊 Flento Data: Across service categories, profiles with accurate hours and clearly separated contact routes convert profile views to calls at higher rates than those with a single generic listing.
🔥 Quick Win: Add one line to your profile description stating your working hours on site and your office hours for enquiries. It prevents both the 3am wrong call and the assumption that you are shut.
Ask contract managers rather than end users, because the people who can vouch for you are the ones who signed the contract and never see you work.
What helps:
Emergency responses produce the best reviews. A manager whose problem you solved at 4am writes something far more useful than routine satisfaction.

Q: Should overnight service businesses show overnight hours on Google? A: Yes. A profile showing closed during your actual working hours contradicts the service you sell. Set real operating hours and clarify separately when the office answers enquiries.
Q: When do B2B buyers actually search? A: During normal business hours, from their desk. The service happens overnight but the decision does not, so content should speak to a daytime researcher.
Q: What language do facilities buyers use? A: Out of hours, after hours and overnight, often as a written specification. Using their exact terminology matters more here than in consumer categories.
Q: What is the biggest objection to address? A: Access and keyholding. A business handing over keys or alarm codes needs reassurance about vetting, insurance and accountability before it discusses price.
Q: Does proximity matter for business customers? A: More than usual. Overnight response times depend entirely on distance, and buyers routinely ask how far away your team is based.
Q: Who should be asked for reviews? A: Facilities and contract managers, particularly after a successful emergency response. They are the decision makers and their reviews carry sector detail that persuades other buyers.
If your listing says closed at the hours you are actually on site, nothing else on this page will help until you change it. Fix the hours first.
Then write like a facilities manager searching at two in the afternoon: use their words, name their sector, and answer the keyholding question before they ask it.
Commit to a response time in writing, because overnight that is the only promise that matters. Try Flento free.
